I was given the task of backing up files to a CD-RW drive. When I tried to go directly to the drive, the backup software would not recognize the drive. I ended up pointing to C:Documents and Settings%currentuser%Local SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftCDBurn. When a file or folder is placed into this folder XP detects that there are files ready to burn to the CD-RW and lets the user know that the files are ready to burn. The user then clicks on "Copy Files to CD."
